Wednesday Snow Day

Coaches should have given you info.

No more than 30min on treadmill, elliptical, bike (as long as you've used it in the past week or so).

Dynamics / Core / stretch/ etc.

Focus on warming body up and getting good flexibility.

Stay indoors.  Cold internal body temps can injure muscles easily!

Distance Runner Snow Day Info

*** Do not run in the snow this afternoon. Be smart!

Tuesday for those that didn't run early - 30-40 minutes of cardio(treadmill, bike or eliptical) stretch and core.

Wednesday - 30 minutes of cardio and stretch. Make sure to look for updates from Coach DIgby via email. If there is no school, there is a small chance that we will be able to practice in the afternoon.

*** Be careful. We are so close to the Conference meet and cannot afford an injury. Shoveling snow for hours is also probably not a great idea. We have done a lot of work to get to this point. Let's not waste it!

Thowers Snow Days Info

Tuesday - If possible get your lift in today. If that is not possible, 15 minutes of cardio would be great. We can't afford to be coach potatoes. If nothing else- Push ups, core, planks.

Wednesday - Unlikely that we will have school - make sure to look for team emails in case they let us practice in the afternoon. If we don't have practice, need you to get in some cardio and then if possible a light lift. 50% of weights and reps. Again, important that we are active at some point of the day.

Tuesday January 21- Digby & Noguchi kids

Parents
PLEASE pass this to your kids. I will be trying to communicate with whomever I have numbers for, but this is imperative we get this done today/tomorrow.

I'm sure there will be no school tomorrow, and since the snow today isn't going to start til later, the kids NEED to get stuff done this am.

We cannot allow them to sit for 2 days and expect to be at their best come Thursday / Saturday at the conference meet.  Both teams have a chance to win the meet, but we have to continue to workout so we don't get flat.  We hope other teams aren't using these days to their advantage and we can catch them off guard.

Rusty, Dejoun, Jordan T, April, Jenny, Cy, Andrew, Jonny, Jordan G, Will, Karen, Skyla, Miriam, Helen, Obadiah, Rachael, Maggie, Juan, Alec, Tyreek, Brian
Outside- Full warm up, 6 x 80 m striders, 10-20-30-40m x 2 (walk off 11 big steps and put a mark for each 10m)
6 x 60m fast, 5 min jog cooldown, dynamic flexibility, upper body lifting work if you can (biceps/triceps/rows/lat pulldown, bench, back fly, pullup, push up. 2 sets 8-10 each)  Do with dumbbells or go to the gym, or use something heavy in the house.

Julia
Full warm up, striders, 4m circle runs x 5 each way, 10 minute of active jogging that includes mock full run approaches (like we do around the track), 10x 1/2 run accelerations (last 2 steps), dynamic flex, upper body lifting work if you can (biceps/triceps/rows/lat pulldown, bench, back fly, pullup, push up. 2 sets 8-10 each)  Do with dumbbells or go to the gym, or use something heavy in the house.

Emma
10 minute warm up, drills, striders 6 x 80m, 5 x 30 second intervals @ 85-90% with a 3-5 minute rest, dynamics, lift

Trust me, the kids aren't going to WANT to get up and do this, but they HAVE to!!  Thanks for all the help. Hopefully it pays off with a conference championship
