Bruins Sweep the Stallions

Friday January 8 Lake Braddock Swim and Dive swam against South County. Lake Braddock came in great strength as LB won 12 out of the 24 races. Our individual winners were David Maquera in the 200 IM and in the 100 Backstroke, John McKenzie in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke, Nick Laffose in the 100 freestyle,  Christina McGarry in the 200 IM, Jordan Parry in the 100 butterfly, and Sophie Chase in the 100 breaststroke.

Our relays were also highly successful. All the boy’s relays in the 200 Medley, 200 Free and 400 Free placed first and third for each of the races. Congratulations boys! The girls 200 Medley relay made states with a time of 1:52.12 dropping 2 seconds from the last meet placing them 1 second under the state cut of 1:53.59. Participants in the relay in order swam where Christina McGarry, Alessandra Troncoso, Jordan Parry, and Alyssa McGarry.

Other great swims included the women’s 500 free style where Kelsey Carpenter and Tessa Wilklow both dropped significant time in the event. Captain Brian Money went a best time of the season going 24.09 in 50 free.  Alex Hunter dropping more time in the 100 free going 58.18 in the event to place 3^rd. Many great swims by all.
